The best time for holidays in  Cambodia is in the wet season between June and early September or in the dry, cool season between November and February, depending on what your goals are while abroad. The most popular time to visit is in the dry season between November and May but at certain times the heat can be extreme. The wet season, between May and October, is a less popular time to visit and offers both advantages and challenges while exploring Cambodia.

With a wealth of things to do, Cambodia provides an interesting combination of culture and adventure for travelers seeking an action-packed holiday from its magnificent national parks to its green mountains and scenic coastlines. They includes  Fish amok (steamed coconut fish in banana leaves), Samlor machu trey (sweet and sour soup with fish), Char kroeung sach ko (stir-fried lemongrass beef), Twa ko (Cambodian sausage), Nom banh chok (Khmer noodles), Bai sach chrouk (grilled pork and broken rice), Kuy teav (noodle soup), Lok lak (stir-fried beef in brown sauce), Kdam chaa ( Fried crab),  and Ang dtray meuk ( grilled squid ).

No, drinking tap water is not recommended in Cambodia. Simply it is not worth risk of getting sick while on holiday and that drinking tap water could easily ruin your tours in Cambodia. Alternatively, use bottled water, filtered water or get boiled water at your hotels.

Delicious and diverse, Cambodian drinks are also a must-try while you are on holiday in Cambodia. To quench your thirst on hot and humid days or get some experience, you are recommended to sip on Sweet iced coffee, Fresh coconut, Craft beer from local breweries , and Sugar cane juice.

The tropical climate lends itself to layered, breathable clothing all year round. But due to the local culture, the modest dress is a rule in Cambodia, particularly for women. Wearing a long loose pants with a T- shirt is the most suitable one for women and men to hop on car or  Tu Tuk and visit  temples. But if women like to wear dress, they need to have a long scarf to cover  knees and legs when walking steps for the view of the temple. In facts, do not wear short shorts, tank top, tight stretch/yoga pants or other clothing too revealing, especially  in temples.

Cambodia is home to stretches of untouched coastline, postcard-perfect tropical islands and powder-white sand lapped by turquoise oceans, making the beaches a must-visit for any explorer. The top beach  destination  is always  Koh Rong Island and its nearby islets, which  accommodates some unspoiled beaches, such as Long Beach, Lonely Beach, Lazy Beach,  Koh Rong Samloem, and  Coral Beach in  Koh Ta Kiev. Along the shoreline are few more beaches like Otres Beach in Sihanoukville, Koh Tonsay and  Kep Beach inKep, and  Sabay Beach in Kampot. They are lesser known but still are worth a short break.
