Most attractions of Hanoi are set around the Old Quarter. To avoid losing time, book a hotel in Hoan Kiem District. You can jump up out of bed to see people doing their morning exercises around Hoan Kiem Lake. After breakfast, you can take bike ride or motor through the Old Quarter to West Lake where are standing the Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Quan Thanh Temple. Not far from the lake is the complex of Ho Chi Minh. You pay a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and follow the walkway to visit his house and catch a look at the One Pillar Pagoda. You then head to the Temple of Literature, one of the most interesting places in Hanoi before your lunch at one of the famous eating spots like Bun Cha Huong Lien or Koto Restaurant. After all, you have a look at the St Joseph Cathedral or Vietnam Museum of History or others and stroll along Hang Gai and To Tich Streets. They are shopping paradises where you can try your hand at bargaining. Stretching your legs at one of massage shops in Hang Trong Street and sip a coffee at Thuy Ta Restaurant that faces the famous water puppet theatre. You have enjoy a show here before refreshing up for an evening out. Many little restaurants and bars open until midnight in Hanoi old quarter.
