Discovering Cambodia’s exciting capital city, take in the ancient temple ruins of Angkor, experience sleepy rural towns and enjoy staggeringly beautiful countryside vistas. This tour begins in Phnom Penh, the vibrant capital city of Cambodia. Here we will visit the Royal Palace, the National Museum of Cambodia, the impressive Wat Phnom, the chilling Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the horrific ‘Killing Fields’. We venture into the countryside to experience spending a night staying with a family in a small village, visiting stunning temples in the area and tasting local food. In Siem Reap, we will visit the magnificent Angkor temple ruins, including the sensational Angkor Wat, the ancient Khmer capital of Angkor Thom, the Royal Enclosure and the remarkable Ta Prohm Temple, teeming with vegetation. We will take a serene boat trip to Tonle Sap Lake, seeing floating villages and meeting the people who live life on the water. We will journey on to the peaceful town of Battambang, where will have the opportunity to ride a traditional bamboo train, visit beautiful temples and meet see traditional craft-making. We will end our tour back in Phnom Penh, where we can shop at a night market, try delicious local food and soak up the energy of Cambodia’s capital.
